The post Razzlekhan Unveils New Video Ahead of Prison Sentence in Bitfinex Hack Case appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News
In a latest development, Heather Morgan, also known as the rapper “Razzlekhan,” released a new music video while preparing to serve prison time for her involvement in laundering cryptocurrency stolen in the Bitfinex hack. Her husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, was convicted of orchestrating the hack, and Morgan helped conceal and cash out parts of the stolen funds.
Notably, in her song “Razzlekhan vs. The United States,” Heather Morgan, performing in her bold rapper persona, raps about money and power. While the title suggests a conflict with the legal system, the lyrics don’t directly challenge the investigation or her 18-month prison sentence. However, the aggressive image in the video contrasts with her emotional courtroom apology for her role in concealing and cashing out parts of the stolen fortune of almost 120,000 bitcoin.
Notably, Heather Morgan’s husband, Ilya “Dutch” Lichtenstein, was sentenced to five years for orchestrating the Bitfinex hack, and their crimes are featured in the Netflix documentary “Biggest Heist Ever.”
She explained that her music and performances reflect her personal experiences throughout her legal case. She shared that many people, particularly creatives and “misfits,” have found her content inspiring and that it makes them feel less alone. The judge who sentenced Heather Morgan rejected her request to shorten her sentence by counting the time she had already spent in jail. Instead, she was told she must report to prison by the end of January. Furthermore, her computer usage will be limited and monitored during this time.
In court, she expressed regret for her actions but later embraced her public persona to stay in the spotlight. In her latest video, she appeals to Elon Musk, referencing his ties to the digital asset world and his political connections.
